Teams

A handball team consists of 14 players, 7 of which (6 court players and a goalkeeper) are on the court at any one time.  The remaining players are reserves.  Substitution during the game happens freely and teams are not limited in the number of interchanges allowed.

Four team officials are permitted on the team bench during matches and these typically include the coach, assistant coach, team physiotherapist or doctor and the team leader.

Each team will usually bring a squad of about 16 players from which the 14 chosen to play in any game are selected.
